WRC Delfi Rally Estonia 2026 Sustainability Targets
1. Climate
Main objective: Reduce the event's carbon footprint.
- Increase the share of renewable energy used in the Service Park and across the event to 75%.
- Replace 90% of generators with more environmentally friendly alternatives (fuel-efficient generators with lower emissions and particulate filters).
- Increase the use of hybrid and electric vehicles.
- Reduce overall fuel consumption by 10% by making the rally route and operations more compact.
- Reduce waste by requiring the use of reusable tableware in catering operations.
- Reduce the number of PVC banners by 25%.
- Integrate sustainability criteria into procurement by prioritising environmentally friendly products, local suppliers and low-emission services.
- Implement sustainability requirements in procurement procedures and catering contracts.
2. Protecting Natural Biodiversity
Main objective: Minimise the rally's impact on the natural environment.
- Work closely with the Environmental Board to ensure compliance with environmental protection requirements.
- Select spectator areas and event infrastructure while considering protected areas, habitats, species and biodiversity.
- Offset the calculated annual carbon footprint by planting approximately 4,000 tree saplings each year on non-forest land in cooperation with partners.
3. Innovation
Main objective: Improve the efficiency and sustainability of event organisation through innovation.
- Continue the development of the EVENTHOS software platform, which supports the planning and management of several thousand event organisers and volunteers.
4. Responsible Management
Main objective: Maintain internationally recognised sustainability standards.
- Maintain and renew the 3-Star FIA Environmental Accreditation, demonstrating continuous commitment to responsible and sustainable event management.
5. Communication and Community Engagement
Main objective: Create lasting value for the local community through sport, education and collaboration.
- Support youth development through the ASRC Rally School, with 22 participants in 2026, including six girls.
- Offer young people their first event work experience through volunteering opportunities and environmental clean-up activities involving three Scout groups.
- Develop the rally as a community festival with activities for a wide range of target groups.
- Organise a free Opening Ceremony in Tartu city centre, including a concert and a Rally1 Demo Show.
- Organise a charity football match between Rally Estonia and the City of Tartu in support of the Estonian Union of Parents of Children with Cancer.
- In cooperation with local authorities, organise promotional events showcasing the City of Tartu to media representatives, WRC Promoter representatives, FIA delegates and other international guests.
- Provide a free-entry Expo area with a dedicated kid's zone at the Service Park.
- Promote Estonian sport through the rally finish event in Kääriku, featuring a sports demo show.
